View from the top of my building at night

I took some long exposure night shots from the roof of my building.  They call this area the "solarium."  It has a pool and a bunch of reclining beach chairs that are eagerly awaiting use in the coming late spring and summer months.  The blob shadow at the very bottom of the photo is my shadow.

A view to the left of the swimming pool looking SE to the Mediterranean Sea.  The small speck of blue is a swimming pool in another solarium in the same residence complex.

The heart of Barcelona (i.e. the most touristy section) is beyond these buildings and to the left.  This is in the SW direction.

Looking West.  Off in the distance you can see La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished church.  I have yet to visit, but when I do I'll certainly take a lot of photos and post the pictures.

Just to the right of the picture above, this is another building that is part of the residence complex I live in.  Yet another solarium!  (Strictly speaking, I actually only have access to the solarium in my building.)

Off to the North, there's a weird shaped tower called the Torre Agbar.  This tower was the reason I went up to take pictures in the first place because it lights up with crazy colors at night.  After shooting, I looked up online that they only light it up for 2 hours a day and only on the weekends.... so I will be back! (And I will also post an explanation of what the tower is along with the photos).

Looking across the solarium to the West.  You can see the reclining chairs and a garbage can, yippee.

And as a bonus of having read this far in this post, here are some pictures of me having fun with the camera:

  2. I LOVE these nighttime shots. Can't wait to see more shots of the photographer, and of course the unfinished Gaudi.
