Tonight I went with my program to a tapas bar to have dinner. The restaurant was called Las Cuatro Encinas (The Four Oaks) and was located right near Plaça Catalunya (the main square on top of Las Ramblas). None of the food was anything we hadn't seen before, but still it was nice to sit down for an hour and a half (they kicked us out at 10) and nibble at a lot of dishes!
Wine and slices of pork (also some nuts and chips in the background).
Russian salad (basically potato salad with tuna and olives)
Bread with tomato and olive oil
Tortilla española (omelette with potatoes) cut up into cubes
Calamari
Fried chicken (tasted better than it looked)
I think whatever these are, they were stuffed with mushrooms and pork? I'm not sure, I didn't try one.
Bacon and hot dog. Didn't eat this either.
Octopus? Also didn't eat this.
And a selection of cakes for dessert:
And coffee of course during dessert. Here's everybody in the group (we took up 3 large tables)
I'm off to see Las Fallas in Valencia this Saturday, so look out for another blog post next week with pictures!
am drooling over that platter of calamari!
